FAQ’S
How Can We Help You?
What is the mission of Global Sisterhood?
Our mission is to bring women together in a unified global conversation as we break molds of competition and replace them with sisterhood. We help women through processes of healing and transformation, our leading transformative tool is Circles. We are a grassroots movement — we provide resources to women so they can become facilitators and in doing so, they free their voice and become leaders in their communities, uplifting other women to do the same. We have a movement of Sister Circles in over 100 countries that gather every new moon around a theme of transformation.
What does Global Sisterhood believe?
We believe that in order to heal our world we must heal ourselves. We believe that we need to dig-deep and do the self-work every month. We believe that this work is hard, and having a supportive community of sisters to help you on your path is essential. Join a women’s circle today or see why 50,000 women turn to us for the support they need.
I'm a man, how can I support?
Thank you so much for your passion and for wanting to join the movement. We welcome men and, in fact, we need the support of men for our movement to grow exponentially!
There are different ways you can support, to whatever degree or capacity you feel called.
Share Global Sisterhood's mission with women in your life. Here is a video to get started. You can do this through conversation, sharing on social media, or signing up for our newsletter and then choosing to forward that to women in your life who you feel would benefit from the messages. Send them to our website to find a women's circle near them, or receive free resources to learn how to facilitate one in their own neighborhood!
Let women know about our monthly new moon circles. Direct them to our website where they can sign up to join our circles or any of courses.
On our Facebook group and platform, we maintain membership for female-identified humans, for safety in sharing. However, we are open to ideas on how you would like to participate so we can keep them in mind as we develop more programs in the future! It is paramount to us to build out that part of the mission over time—conscious masculinity, healed and whole men, are just as important as conscious, healed and whole women.
Can you hold a circle online?
Yes! At Global Sisterhood we host virtual circles all the time. The process is quite similar to leading a regular circle. Zoom, Skype or Google Hangouts are great platforms to use.
Some tips:
Once everyone has joined the video call, rather than jumping right in, simply ask everyone to close their eyes and lead them through a centering meditation to set the space.Invite them to envision that they are in a circle with candles in the center (describe the space for them in beautifying but concise detail). Then set the guidelines of a safe space. From here, simply share about the monthly theme, how you relate to it, and invite some questions and exercises.
Follow this with an organized sharing. Perhaps set a timer for each share. At some point in the session, lead the Heart Meditation. At the end of it have each woman set their new moon intentions and share them with the group in one sentence.
You can do sharing a couple of times, one before the ritual and one after, and you can throw in any activity of your own inspiration.
At the end, guide the women back into the same visualization as before and have everyone imagine blowing out the candle at the end. Happy circling!
Where do I find support in facilitating a circle?
Our mission is to support you in becoming a leader. Our resources, facilitator trainings and groups are all intended to help you each step of the way.
Our best resource is our Circle Collective Membership which you may purchase. Your support of our products keeps our mission alive.
Should I charge for my circle?
At our local circle we ask for a $22 donation, which goes toward costs we incur. Some women choose to charge a fee, or ask for a donation to cover the cost of supplies and space rental.
This is a personal decision, and depends on what feels right to you regarding your community of women and your need for support to make the group sustainable. Some women who host at their homes choose not to charge.
